Filmmaking Start to Finish

In this unique class, students will experience every aspect of filmmaking with a final screening of the film they wrote, produced, directed, and edited.  Through experiencing every aspect of the process, students are given the ability to leave the class with a firm grasp of the most collaborative artform in the world.  Real world skills practiced in this class are writing, collaboration, teamwork, software/computer skills and creativity.  At the conclusion of the class, the final project from the class will be screened for friends and family.

Music Production with Garageband

This course will give students an overview of this amazing software from Apple, demonstrating all the tools and techniques to make your own music and podcasts. We’ll cover the application throughout, from a complete overview of the interface, connecting instruments and microphones, exploring Apple Loops, and recording instrument and vocal tracks to creating successful mixes, performing edits, and sharing finished projects. Additionally, the course introduces the new features in GarageBand ’11, including Flex Time and Groove Matching.  

 Film Editing
Description: This class is ideal for students who want to edit movies, add effects, titles and transitions to their videos.  By learning the process of adding these after effects to their videos, students learn how to take their raw video to the next level.  Video footage will be provided, but students are welcome to bring in “in-progress” projects. Software used; imovie, Final Cut Pro and adobe Premiere.

Friday Night Creative Studio

Activities include Creating Minecraft gaming videos for YouTube, Green Screen Karaoke, 1-hour Film Festival, and the Creative Studio Experience.  Get hands on experience in video production, editing, educational gaming, and creating vidoes for YouTube in a fun environment.  Pizza and soft dringks will be provided weekly along with music and fun!
